'American Reflection', generously commissioned by Abbot Academy Fund for the Phillips Academy Andover Chamber Orchestra, came about when I pondered and contemplated the vast American legacy that Phillips Academy Andover has held since 1778. In addition this piece attempts to envision a 'new American sound' of the 21st century, and utilizes many open harmonies and conversational melody.
